Thanks! And yes-- a really fun thing to do on the other end of a move, and a nice way to connect the work of your hands with the ground under your feet
I love the little knitted pots! What a wonderful way to make something good for the environment and learn how to 4-needle knit at the same time - and you even included the directions for us. Pots now and socks later. Every once in a while I find a bag of yarn at Goodwill that has some wool yarn that's been sitting in someone's closet for a little too long. It might have some chewed spots, but would be perfect for the pots. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
Sarah, these are the bomb! Will start a few asap, and share with my gardening friends! I’ve got some wool pellets added to some of my porch and indoor plants. Thank you so much for sharing. And tell Beryl to hang in there; she’s such a dear. Give her some hugs for me. XO
So glad! And yes to sharing with gardening friends who, in my somewhat limited experience, are a little more skeptical about the wonderful combination of wool and plants than those of us already in love with both...
Oh what wonderful little pots! I have finally moved and we have our new garden, which I was not planning to do much with this year so I could see what comes up. But I have already ordered some snowdrop bulbs in the green (to slip into the lawn at the far end for next winter) and seeds of poppies and marigolds, and I shall want a fennel plant or two. All my large outdoor tubs and pots are arriving soon too. But I feel the need to make a few tiny pots to sow seeds in after seeing this. If only I can find some of my balls of random handspun!
Wahoooo! You made it. At last! SO so happy for you. And yes, I was planning the exact same thing--see what comes up and get to know what is here. But obv. neither of us can resist planting a few things right away even as we do that. Fennel-- GREAT idea. Thanks.
wonderful! I may do a few of these myself. I've been using wool pellets in my food garden for a couple years now.
if you are in the mood to move again or more, I would encourage you to try to find a new newsletter host as well. regrettably, for all its assets, Substack is a safe haven for Nazi content.
I am also settling into a new house and life (albeit much more slowly) and we have seeds for the garden and lots of random bits of wool. I had better get knitting!
Congratulations on your new house-- and oh my but isn't settling a thing? I"m trying to remember to let it take whatever time it takes (like plants in a new pot)!
So cool! I may try this with my indigo and woad seeds! Thank you!
What perfect plants to grow in wooly bowls!
Absolutely cool! Your enthusiasm is fully warranted. Can't wait to make some if these, thanks so much. Love your content!
Wow! That’s amazing. What a way to combine two wonderful pursuits, gardening and knitting. I will be making some (just as soon as wrap up this move).

Goodwill yarn that's had a life before you feels like the perfect thing for these. Great idea.

Yes! I love it. Going to go gather up my scrap yarn right now!
What's your lake? So much new territory for Beryl (and you) to explore.
Lake Pend Oreille. And yes -- an amazing number of places to check out
that is the greatest idea. I have already potted my seedlings, but will knit like made this winter for next Spring.
This is the coolest idea I’ve read about in a long time! I will be trying this!!!
Thanks! And I'm so glad.
Oh my!!! This is coming at a good time for me. I want to start several seeds when I get back to England. Thank you for inspiring me.
What a Brilliant idea! Thank you so much ❣️

I love this idea! I'm always looking for simple projects to use up leftover bits of yarn. This is a great project for the knitter/gardener!

Love’em! Thanks Sarah

I'm learning patience. But I'm here for the duration so there is time.
What a great idea. Hope you and Beryl are settling in nicely.
Thanks! And yes, we're figuring things out all the time.
