Dog trips are the best. Trips where dogs stay home are the worst. Enjoy your time with Beryl (ok, with your dad and family too). Scritches to her and hugs to you. You’re both lucky to have each other.
Have a wonderful time and adventure with wonderful Beryl. Your journey brings back memories for of my first trip without Bill. It was an adventure and sweet and strange not to have him with me….and I was 80 years old at the time. Here is to many more times and a great celebration with your Dad
Enjoy your trip! For many years I drove from Boston to Red Feather Lakes CO for the month of August. The solitary drive back and forth was a wonderful part of the trip.
Just a heads up, NH will have a gazillion folks around for the solar eclipse.
Travel well dear Sarah and Beryl. And you know my door is always open. Dogs and knitting welcome. I'll even fire up the sauna. Perhaps you will catch the eclipse too?
Oh, what joy! A cross-country trip! It is such a soul-filling adventure, especially with a traveling companion like Beryl. Soak up all that our land has to offer. Have fun. Be safe. Enjoy family.
How incredibly exciting! And I so hear you on the flying thing. As well as leaving dogs behind. I simply cannot. I hope you have an incredible time and while I will miss your weekly dispatches (should they prove to be too much as you're traveling) I will be cheering you on as you make your way across the country. In fact, I will encourage you to take whatever break you need/want to from your writing. You are so remarkably generous and wonderful with all the beautiful things you share. Have fun!!!
Bon voyage! Have a wonderful journey!
If you are passing near Shepherdstown WV we could play some concertina duets!
where do you find such wonderful solitary(?) treks?…I’m envious 😊

Safe travels and lots of doggie walks.

Hoping for traveling mercies for you and Beryl and that you enjoy the ride. Will be following you from central Mexico.
Have a great time Sarah!
Beautiful scenery from one homebody to another.
Have you ever tried thigh spinning or adding cedar to your spun strands. I saw this used for warp. It fascinates me.
Drive safe! Can’t wait to see you and Beryl at the other end. Katherine

Have a good, safe journey east (and west). Congratulations to your father -- into his tenth decade! Whoop! (Does that call for champagne?)
