For a pair of contented stay-at-homes, it’s rather wild to say this— —but Beryl and I are on our way from Idaho to New Hampshire to help celebrate my father’s 90th birthday. It’s a fair distance (5000-6000 miles round trip depending on the route), so it’ll take most of April— and a great deal of tailgate coffee.
Dog trips are the best. Trips where dogs stay home are the worst. Enjoy your time with Beryl (ok, with your dad and family too). Scritches to her and hugs to you. You’re both lucky to have each other.
Have a wonderful time and adventure with wonderful Beryl. Your journey brings back memories for of my first trip without Bill. It was an adventure and sweet and strange not to have him with me….and I was 80 years old at the time. Here is to many more times and a great celebration with your Dad
Enjoy your trip! For many years I drove from Boston to Red Feather Lakes CO for the month of August. The solitary drive back and forth was a wonderful part of the trip.
Just a heads up, NH will have a gazillion folks around for the solar eclipse.
Travel well dear Sarah and Beryl. And you know my door is always open. Dogs and knitting welcome. I'll even fire up the sauna. Perhaps you will catch the eclipse too?

How incredibly exciting! And I so hear you on the flying thing. As well as leaving dogs behind. I simply cannot. I hope you have an incredible time and while I will miss your weekly dispatches (should they prove to be too much as you're traveling) I will be cheering you on as you make your way across the country.
